At UnsafeFoods we have a cause — to give Americans the information and tools they need to help protect themselves and their families from foodborne illnesses. Through informing the American public, we hope to reduce the number of foodborne illnesses each year.
This is why we launched our website. We want to help Americans get the information they need, when they need it, from a knowledgeable source. We report on outbreaks, food recalls, concerns surrounding food and our food supply, issues with our water supply, and methods for preventing foodborne illness. We talk about new legislation and policies surrounding our food safety system. We dispel myths about food safety and the foods we eat. We provide helpful information about what can make our families sick and how we can help them to heal. We seek to make the process of reporting foodborne illnesses easier, to limit the spread of current outbreaks and help prevent future outbreaks. We focus on what matters, making the American food system safer for all of us.
One of the ways in which we strive to make the American food supply safer is by holding food manufacturers and processors responsible for their critical role in our food system. As Americans, each of us deserves to know what is happening in our food supply. This is why manufactures need to ensure proper GMPs and HACCP are followed stringently.
Above all, we seek to bring some hope and understanding in a sometimes confusing and troubling world.
